Every year when the Oscars takes place, I take great delight in checking out the red carpet dresses that the celebrities wear. I wish that I had an opportunity to get really dressed up in a beautiful dress just once (apart from getting married which I have already done). For my next big birthday, perhaps I will organise an Oscar themed party for my friends where everyone gets to wear their own Oscar Dress, well the women anyway.
What I love about the Oscars is the huge variety of colours and styles of dress that everyone wears so carefully selected to look stunning on them whatever their colouring and body shape. Of course, every year there are some big mistakes, great for reminding us all that nobody is perfect and we all have these moments - don't we?
The Oscars are a great place to get inspiration for Christmas Party Dresses.
Probably my favourite this year, although a difficult choice would have to be Sandra Bullock in shimmering silver Marchesa.
Closely followed by Demi Moore in Versace
Zoe Kravitz in Alexis Mabille and Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta
These girls (or their stylists) definitely know how to pick just the right shade of nude.
In the absence of an Oscar style budget and a stylist to help me pick just the right shade of nude for my dream Oscar party dress, I would opt for this gorgeous Ben De Lisi dress from the designers at Debenhams collection.
More red carpet worthy prom, party, ball and evening dresses.
